First Injury

TIP ---when you're building in your fifties instead of your thirties, make sure you remember that you might not move as, shall we say, gracefully as you once might have.
Yeah...yesterday i was down there going to town clearing property of deadfall and downed trees. i turned wrong and fell backward into a pile of dead limbs and branches. (i call it a tree boneyard because all the limbs are dried and stipped of bark). Holy crap it scared the shit out of me... and steve... and the dog who came running when she heard me cry out. i hit my back right on a knot, which was actually a good thing because it wasn't sharp. steve freaked because he thought i had stabbed myself on one of those dead sticks. i was afraid of falling on one of the two inch alder stumps sticking out of the ground. i am sore today. i wasn't until i hauled the wheelbarrel full of sod and grass clumps back to the clearing. now it hurts, but i'll survive.
